Motor car 6451
In late 1904, the Compagnie Générale des Tramways d'Anvers (CGTA) started building a series of 71 railcars. This tram became the company's type carriage. Thirty motor cars were equipped with two 29.44 kW engines in 1925. From 1937, the CGTA converted a number of trams from this series to the type 101.
In 1963, the motor cars got a 4 in front of their number. That number stood for 40 hp (29.44 kW). In 1966, on the trams still in service, they replaced the trolley bar with a pantograph and 22 cars were converted for one-man operation.
Motorcar 4408 (then 408) was badly damaged during the Allied bombardment over Mortsel on 5 April 1943. The tram driver died as a result.
Motor coach 6451 was equipped with two 66 hp (48.76 kW) engines in 1941. In 1963, a 6 was placed in front of the number, referring to the 66 hp. In 1966, the trolley bar was replaced by a pantograph. In 1968, the wagon was adapted for one-man operation and fitted with an electric track brake.
