Horse-drawn tram

Authentic horse-drawn trams have all but disappeared. This open summer coach came into service in 1916 on the electric tram lines around Brussels. It is therefore not originally a vehicle that operated as a horse tram in Antwerp, but it bears very strong similarities to it. In 1956, this 'baladeuse' was ready to be sold to Iran but the sale did not go ahead. In 1973 and 1974, the special carriage was used for rides on the Herentalsebaan in Deurne, and in 1984 it could be seen during the Ghent Festivities.
