Albatros
As a successor to the Hermelijn trams, the Albatros first appeared in September 2015. This was the Flexity 2 tram type, built by Bombardier. The name of the low-floor tram was coined by Gentenaar Gunther Govaert. He simultaneously referred to the tram's great length and energy efficiency: "The albatross is one of the largest flying birds and can fly very far with little energy." There are two models of the Albatross: a big brother with seven parts (43 metres long), and a small one with five (32 metres long).
